Editorial Standards

FortifyCast publishes original written content on this site alongside the audio content our creators upload. That written content includes the blog, the long-form guides, the creator guide, category landing pages, the help centre, and every page of legal and policy copy. This page explains how the written content is produced, reviewed, corrected, and separated from advertising, and how the audio side of the platform is moderated and verified.

Named authors

Every article on the blog and every guide is written by a named member of our team in Accra, Ghana, or by a named guest contributor we commission. We do not publish anonymous articles. Author bylines link to a real profile page. When a piece has more than one contributor, all of them are named.

Sourcing standards

Every factual claim that references a number, a date, a policy or a quote is traceable to one of three sources: a public primary source (a company filing, a government release, an academic paper, a news report from an established outlet); first-party FortifyCast data that our team can reproduce from our own systems; or a direct interview with a named creator or industry professional. When we can link a claim to a public source, we link it inline. When the claim is based on FortifyCast internal data, we say so and describe the query.

Fact-checking

Before an article is published, a second team member reads it end to end against the sources cited. Numbers are re-derived, quotes are checked against the original transcript or recording, and any claim about a person or company is confirmed with a second source where possible. If we cannot confirm a claim, we cut it or clearly attribute it as one person's opinion.

Corrections policy

If we get something wrong, we correct it in place and add a dated correction note at the top of the affected article explaining what changed and why. Minor typographical fixes are made silently. Substantive changes to meaning, numbers or names are always disclosed. To report a factual error, email editorial@fortifycast.com with a link to the article and a description of the error. We aim to review corrections requests within three business days.

Example correction note: "Correction (12 March 2026): An earlier version of this article said the platform had 100,000 monthly listeners in Ghana. The correct figure was 30,000; the 100,000 figure referred to registered accounts, not monthly listeners."

Creator verification

The verified blue check on a creator profile means one of three things: the creator holds an active Fortify Pro subscription (which grants verification automatically while the subscription is active); or an admin verified the creator's identity manually after they submitted a verification request; or the account is a legacy verified account we brought over from an earlier phase of the platform. Verification is about identity confirmation, not endorsement of the creator's views. Verified accounts are held to the same community guidelines as everyone else.

Community moderation

Audio content, live rooms, chat and direct messages are moderated under our Community Guidelines using a combination of user reports, automated signals and human review. Editorial standards on this page cover the written articles we publish; guidelines cover what users publish. The two policies are aligned in intent.

Sponsored content and advertising

Editorial articles on the blog and guides are not sponsored. If we ever publish a sponsored article, it is labelled "Sponsored" at the top and the sponsor is named. Third-party advertising placements (for example, Google AdSense) appear on some public pages and are labelled as advertising. Advertisers have no visibility into or influence over editorial coverage.
