Monetizing your show on Fortify Cast: coins, sponsors, and Fortify Pro

By Kwame O., Editorial · 11 min read

Fortify Cast has a single, unified economy so creators do not have to duct-tape monetization together across platforms. This guide covers every path to earning from your show inside the app, in the order they usually become useful.

How the coin economy works

Coins are the app's currency. One coin equals one Ghana pesewa. Listeners buy coins with mobile money or card and send them to creators as gifts. Creators withdraw the coins they've received to a Ghanaian mobile money wallet or bank account. There is no separate "creator payout currency" — everything is cedis end to end.

Coin gifts on episodes

Every episode has a gift button. Listeners can send a coin gift with an optional message. You see gifts in real time in your creator dashboard. There's no minimum; even 1 coin (1 pesewa) counts.

Coin gifts during live sessions

Live is where most tipping happens. When a listener sends a gift during your session, the whole room sees a full-screen animation. Bigger gifts get bigger animations. Top tippers show up in a session leaderboard above the speaker grid, and hosts can thank them by name.

Tip goals

Before or during a live session, hosts can set a coin tip goal with a label ("500 coins to sponsor the next studio upgrade"). Progress shows to everyone in the room. When the goal is hit, the whole room sees a celebration. This is the single most effective monetization feature for live sessions — a specific goal outperforms an open ask by a lot.

Withdrawing what you've earned

Once your coin balance reaches at least 100 coins (GH₵1), you can request a withdrawal from Dashboard → Wallet. Options:

Withdrawals are processed manually by our finance team. Turnaround is typically 1–3 business days. There is a small platform fee to cover payment processing; the exact fee is shown before you confirm the withdrawal.

Sponsor reads (once you have an audience)

Fortify Cast does not broker sponsorships — that's a direct relationship between you and the brand. But the app makes fulfillment clean:

Fortify Pro ($4.99/month bundle)

Fortify Pro is our optional creator subscription. It costs $4.99/month and bundles:

Fortify Pro is a creator tool, not a monetization channel by itself, but the blue check and transcripts noticeably increase listener trust and search discoverability. New accounts get all Pro features free for 7 days as a preview.

Creator Live subscriptions (Predictable live economics)

If you run live sessions regularly, the pay-per-participant-minute model can be hard to budget for. Creator Live plans give you a fixed monthly, semi-annual, annual, biennial (2-year) or triennial (3-year) subscription that covers your live minutes at a predictable cost. Longer commitments get automatic discounts (5% for 6 months, 10% annual, 20% biennial, 30% triennial). Details in your dashboard under Creator Live.

Live Minutes wallet (the default live billing)

If you don't have a Creator Live subscription, live sessions bill per participant-minute at $0.001/minute (including you as host). New accounts get 1,000 free live minutes for the first 7 days. You can top up your Live Minutes wallet in $4 packs if you go through the free minutes.

Milestone bonuses

Once your lifetime earnings on Fortify Cast cross certain thresholds, we automatically add bonus live minutes as a thank-you. You don't have to do anything to claim them — they show up in your Live Minutes wallet.

Clip sharing (indirect monetization)

Turning your best 30–60-second moments into shareable clips is not itself a payment channel, but it's one of the fastest ways to bring new listeners into your paid ecosystem. Clips work on both live recordings and pre-recorded episodes.

What we do not do

A realistic monetization ramp

  1. Month 1–2: Just publish. Do not turn on tip asks yet. Build the habit.
  2. Month 3–4: Add a soft tip ask at the end of live sessions. Start setting small tip goals.
  3. Month 5–8: Start reaching out to local sponsors. Turn on Fortify Pro if you want transcripts.
  4. Month 9+: Formalize a rate card for sponsors. Consider a Creator Live subscription if you're live more than once a week.

The whole system is designed so that monetization can grow with you, not something you switch on all at once. Ship consistently first; the money follows.
